Solar Power and Community Support for HolliWalk
The San Juan Community Home Trust is celebrating major milestones at HolliWalk that reflects both strong community backing and meaningful progress toward sustainable, affordable housing in Friday Harbor.
Earlier this week, the Friday Harbor Town Council unanimously approved the HolliWalk Planned Residential Development (PRD) and variance requests, fully accepting Town Staff’s recommendation. The hearing was smooth and uneventful in the best possible way marking a clear show of support for the project.
This approval brings HolliWalk one step closer to delivering permanently affordable homes to local residents.
Solar Installation Complete
In another exciting update, solar panels have now been installed on all eight HolliWalk homes. These systems will help homeowners reduce electricity costs while generating clean, renewable energy—further strengthening the long-term sustainability of the community.

The HolliWalk Solar installation is supported with funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act. The CCA supports Washington’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Information about the CCA is available at www.climate.wa.gov.
